Okay time is flying....

We have only 42 days until we step on that Airplane to fly to Africa. Nya is so ready for it to come. How many darks (nighttime she asks) Until we are in Africa. After a 1 1/2 years of planning you think we would be ready. But all of sudden I was wishing I had a couple extra free days. We got our passports and we getting the rest of our shots this month. We are selling our car and really just simpliflying. THought I would put a couple new pictures on. The first one is Bob at his teaching job graduation. And this is of the girls at the beach.... Love you all and once I am in Africa I will blogging once a week or so.

55 days...

Well- counting down here. Just to update you with the house...We were not able to sell our house but we really think that was part of God's plan. We were able to get renters right away. They are a military family from Dallas Texas. They are wanting to rent the house for 2 years. We are so excited to see God work out the details. We are leaving the 5th of August. I will keep you updated!

In God's timing...

That is what we are living and breathing right now. The house has not sold and we are being stretched to see how God has it in His plan. We are having to trust that He sees the whole picture and not just what we see. He promises us that He will be faithful and so we have to live trusting that. He doesn't tell us everything, but asks us to be obedient. So in all that we know we are to go to Africa and serve. We still have the house and He has to provide somehow the mortgage to be paid whether we are to sell it or rent it. He has to do it. So if you think of us be praying that we continue to be obedient with what He has told us and trust Him where He is working. That is the house. :) He has never let us down. So it will be fun to see Him do it again.

My two chickens...

Time is flying and my girls are getting old. I really want to put them on pause... Nya is 5 and told me yesterday that she is ready to move to Africa. I told her that we are actually moving to Malawi but she doesn't believe me. Analise is getting so big that I have her in 3t clothes and she is not even 2 yet. No longer a baby. Anyways our container is leaving for Africa with all our personal effects on May 29th. And in 82 days we are shipping us to Africa.

It's coming. Yippee!

So our journey continues...

We are having some of our friends visit from Tanzania, Africa and I thought I would share them. They have been so fun to have and they bring such a fresh perspective. They are Pastor Eric Mukwenda and his wife Elisikia. They have been staying with us for the last 2 weeks and we will see them this coming Christmas in their home in Arusha Tanzania. They are our second family and how fun will it be to spend Christmas in Africa.

We are about 86 days until we leave to Malawi. Yippee!

We will be living at the top of the campus 4th house down on the right. Also that is where Bob will be teaching at the college. Nya will go to school at the middle of the campus with the blue circle and and the hospital in the yellow circle is where I will be working at. We are amazed that we get to see our house from space before we move...
We are doing great here. Only 113 days away until we fly to Malawi! WOW!!!

Cheetos...

That's why we have Mosquito Nets... According to Nya. Because the Cheetos will bite her. Her interpretation of Mosquitoes. That is what she is nervous about. Well- Time is flying by here and we are moving to Malawi in about 3 1/2 months. We are getting really excited to be there. Our container left yesterday full of our personal effects. Africa a world away but the world is so small when I can ship my Skippy Peanut Butter and eat there. :)

By God's grace and your prayers:The thirty member African mission team arrived safely in San Diego. The illnesses among the team did not interfere with the mission and were largely resolved by the time we arrived in San Diego. Much was accomplished! During their short stay, the drill team members; trained the African team in the use of the drilling rig, started the well by going through 43 feet of solid rock, and saw the door opened to a relationship with the Masai. At the school, two classrooms were plastered inside and out, ready for the next semester; the entire school was taught by the team for the week and 220 children were seen in the medical clinic. During the crusades and street evangelism, the Lord saw fit to add to His Kingdom.And the heart's of all who went were drawn nearer to the Lord!Glory to God!

an update on us moving...

We are still here in San Diego... trying to sell the house. We leave in 4 months in August. We are soooo ready to be there. We have about 2 months left in San Diego if the house sells soon. So we will keep you updated.

an update on the missions trip...

Here is a letter from pastor Eric....
Greetings from Arusha.
I want to take this chance to praise the Lord for what He accomplished in Arusha ,Tanzania through the team of students ,teachers ,some parents from Christian high school and some members from East Valley Christian Fellowship of SAN DIEGO and from other churches in SAN DIEGO.
In church side we where very blessed by the team ministry to our children's church as they impacted our kids with different things they taught them. As well they real blessed kids at our school Maranatha missions school they real kept the kids very busy and our school kids where impacted and blessed teachings of songs, different games.DR Dave with help from some students he he had medical clinic at Maranatha missions school in five days he was able to attend more than two hundred kids we have at our school, some of the kids had complicated cases like serious eye problems they where not aware of .
Our school where blessed by the team through construction of two class rooms which had no plaster on the walls a and out side wall ,they team teamed up with Maranatha church members and parents of students at our school, before the team left plastering of inside wall s, out side walls.
Our Branch church in USA RIVER TOWN near Arusha where real impacted and blessed by evangelism activities which was done by the team through street and House to House evangelism and Gospel crusade, our Branch church pastor shared with pastor Eric that he had more people in church the last Sunday the team was here and the mid week services.Several people accepted the lord and are coming to church and more people whom the team evangelized to are coming to the church to be prayed for.
In Arusha the team visited several homes,es to pray fror the sick ,visited oprhans , people who needed encouragement, in one House a single mother cried to see the team visiting her as she could not imagine she felt valued.
Last the drill team started water drilling in Kidemunge branch church Maasai area, though they did not fin ish the task because of various reasons the start was a blessing and a big accomplishment , as Masai villagers real got excited to see the water is coming near the,m.The Masai elders and village government had a meeting with pastor Eric when he went there to encourage the team.
We thanks the team for being a blessing to us .
We thanks all the parents who sent their kids, all parents and team members from East Valley and other churches for coming.
We thanks all who supported the team through prayers an dd financially.

They made it all home in one piece...

After 33 hours of travel they made it home. They were all beaming at the airport. As soon as Bob got home he just crashed. So I am sure they all did. They were busy until they got on the airplane. I will update more later.

They are on their way home...

Bob and team are traveling as I write this blog. We are so thrilled to have them home. They should be in San Diego by 7:04pm Monday Night. Yippe. Hopefully I can post some stories and updates from Pastor Eric Mukwenda this week. Thank you for your prayers. More to come soon.

an update from the drilling team...

Drilling team
They have run into problems drilling. As of yesterday they had only drilled 25 feet. The ground ispretty hard rock and they have not yet broken through to softer soil. They have gone through almost all of their drill bits and will have to start making their own. They said it is pretty hard manual labor and they are tired at the end of the day. The unity between the men has been awesome and the focus has been on Jesus. They are praying together as a team before drilling and sitting together atthe table reading the bible and praying. Please pray for soft soil and water. They are all tired but in very good spirits.

The news...

Bob called and said that they team is doing great. Some of the students are doing street evangelism and seeing people give their lives to Christ. What stories they will have to tell. We look forward to hearing them. They are healthy and have 2 days to work out in the streets and homes of Arusha, Tanzania. They will go on a safari on saturday. Not much else new. Keep praying for the drill team no news as of today.



Okay here is the situation with me. I can't blog at my new place that I am staying at. Problems with their internet but I can email.

okay so I went to bed forgetting to blog...

I am so sorry... Here is the update...

He called to report in that the team is doing great. They spent the day working at the school until 12pm and then went to lunch. After lunch they went and did house to house evangelism and went out to the streets and witness until 6pm. They all are getting along great and really enjoying there time there. They are doing medical clinics at the school there and checking all the school kids that they are healthy. The drilling team have started drilling and Bob thinks that they are doing it all night and doing it in shifts. He said the whole team is really have a great time.

So I got a call from Bob...

Amazing he has a satellite phone. And it felt like he was just down the street, but he is halfway around the world. He said that they are doing great. There were some complications with the drilling machine that were worked out. So they start digging as we sleep tonight. The high school students are loving it. They are working at the school that Pastor Eric has for kids ages preschool to 4th grade. They also are doing street evangelism. Every one is happy and healthy. So that is a short report for today...

here is the latest from Bob...

Hello family and friends. Our team made it safely to Tanzania. We are doing very here. Everything has been going so smooth. We arrived on time and the pastor picked us up and drove us into town. All of our baggage made it and we are doing great. We had our first night in Africa last night. Most everyone slept well and are in good spirits. We went to church this morning and the service was awesome. Many of the students shared their testimonies in church and also worked in the Sunday school classes. Many students worked with the little children and loved it. We are now back at our host families houses resting and enjoying being with the host families. Tomorrow we will continue to serve in various ministries and activities. I honestly cannot believe how perfect everything is going and how wonderful of a time we are having. There are currently no sicknesses and the whole team is feeling pretty good. The pastor really is taking care of us and has gone to great lengths to accomodate our team. The well drilling team has left for the branch church. They are also doing well and should begin their project tomorrow. That is enough for now. I will continue to email when possible. Keep praying for us as we serve this church here in Tanzania.

So that is what I got from Bob today...

Today no news....

They got there in Arusha about 10:30pm and probably went right to bed. they are 10 hours ahead of us. So while we are awake they are sleeping. But I do know that they went to church and went street evanglisming. I emailed the pastor from the church to hear something. So hopefully we will hear something today. I will keep you updated.

On there way....

so 31 kids and adults are on their way. They left this morning at 8:30 am. Bob told he was so excited to fly with everyone. He said that it would be one big talking fest. He told me that everyone that is going is fun to talk with. Anyways- They will be in Kilamanjaro at 10:50 AM tomorrow (Saturday). It is about 10 hours ahead of our time. So they get in at 8:50 PM there. They will go to Church on Sunday and go to house groups then and rest the day.

I will update everyday. If there isn't anything, I still let you know.
